Who is the quintessential villain? The most diabolical beast ever written in any media? What constitutes a "villain?" Ozymandias' mass slaughter? The Rhino's constant idiocy? what, i ask you, makes the villain.

Re: The perfect villain
Tue, February 10, 2004 - 3:12 PMI have always preferred the genteel villain, the criminal mastermind sort. The one who you know is evil, who is a total sociopath, and yet is still polite and cultured. Who has manners and courtesy but regards those around him simply as tools.
Ozymandias is a good example of that sort of character I think, though not a perfect one as I don't really see what he did as evil, but just and frighteningly heavy-handed attempt to do good.
In literary terms, I think Moriarty ( sp? ) is a good example. As brilliant as he is evil. My mind is blanking at the moment on good comics examples though I know there are some.

Mon, February 14, 2005 - 9:43 AMVillians take away your dreams or hope.
This can be through killing, stealing, controlling (and taking away your choices or directly assigning you tasks or limited choices)... planning and attempting these things.
